I see the effect in the editor, but in the game view it does not show? What am I missing?
Poking around on the internet, it says they are not supported with the LWRP, but…[Andre said in this thread that they do work with the LWRP. ]( Feedback Wanted: Lightweight Render Pipeline page-5)

…How would I do THAT in THIS Render Pipeline? Currently Lens flares work fine in LWRP(un-intentional) but they will be getting replaced by a post processing effect in the future, but in saying that we do need to support classic quad based lens-flares for low-end hardware, in the meantime just use the current lens flares in Unity.
As far as I can tell, the current lens flares simply do not render at all in a game view where the camera is using LWRP.
They do appear in the scene view.

@GlynWilliams as you have stated, I used Unity Version 2019.2.12 and the exact same thing happened to me, lens flair would show up in scene view, but not in game view, I’m updated to 2019.2.14, but the porting over to the LWRP was such a huge hassle last time I attempted, that I haven’t worked up the will the attempt it again, despite all the potential advantages.
