Flash 5 now with native iPhone support

Hello all,
well o was on MAX this Year and was surprised and shocked about the announcement of Flash 5 by end of this Year as a free beta with iPhone export.
There where some Demos how to and it look’s like it is optimized for 2D Games on iPhone… There really run very fast with a lot of ActionScript3 !!! You can also use all iPhone specific techniques like accelerator etc…
I think @ moment it is very interesting for 2D Games and could also be a big concurrence for Unity iPhone… because of the Prize and the wide range of Flash Dev’s …
BUT Flash suck’s when it comes to 3D. And that’s the point for me personal… i prefer the 3D Space because 2D was yesterday ;-).

What do you think about it ?

Here is a link to a Video Demo:

haha - funny title

would be indeed a sensation if adobe decided to add iphone support to Flash 5 …

it’s Flash CS5 not Flash 5

its flash pro CS5 actually, the normal flash cs5 won’t get the it

Horay another thread about this!

Summary of all the other threads…

  1. The export will suck, and it’ll struggle to do anything more complicated than a bouncing ball, even on a 3GS.

  2. Lol, its flash… Not even Flex.

  3. Taking the previous two things into account, expect a huge army of fart/stupid soundboards to hit the app store… Waaaait a second… Is it out already?

hehe … there are surely things that make sense … for example I would love to see the SFS Pro Admin tool beeing ported to the iphone muahaha

thats no problem - using flashdevelop as IDE and Flash CS5 as building engine → great dev environment
