My real/current job is as a Mechanical Engineer and I do a lot of CAD/CAM work, hence the setup. I have a spaceball too, but it doesnāt work in Unity.
Picture is very overxposed, and I need a new desk, but this is it:
Nothing wrong with CRTās. Took me many years after LCDs were mainstream before I was willing to switch from my dual Viewsonic 21" Pro CRT monitors to dual 21" Viewsonic Pro LCDs. Now I work on Dell LCDs but the images they produce are not as crisp and the colour reproduction is not as good as my 13 year old Viewsonic Pro LCDs. I am finally at the point where I am contemplating getting rid of the majority of the CRTs and just keeping one 21" Viewsonic CRT for colour checking and colour reproduction work.
That said, there is no way I could manage to get a half-dozen 30" CRTs on a glass desk without some serious reinforcement, so yeah, LCDs, even if they make my eyes more tired at the end of the day than a good CRT ever did.
