Flashlight help!

So this weekend I have been working on a new game which is based in a forest at night. One of the most important things for this in my opinion is the flashlight and I just can’t seem to get mine to look realistic. Right now I am using a spotlight with a cookie and a yellowish/pale colored light but no dice! I just can’t get the beam part of the light

This is what I have so far (Yes I know the environment is ugly, it is just very rough)

Here is sort of the effect I am going for with my flashlight

Any suggestions?
Thank you,
Ombra

ive tried to get this effect, i dont think you can, ive looked into godrays and image effects and what not, but im not to sure. sorry.

Off the top of my head, you could use a spot light with a cookie plus a transparent shaft (cylinder) or a plane using a billboard script. There’s an example in the first post of this thread: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/63111-Problems-with-spotlight-shadows and this fellow is selling some pre-made assets that look to do what you want: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/62398-Powerful-Low-Draw-Call-Volume-Light-amp-Light-Effect-Solutions
