My monitor is 1440p.
Font rendering looks horrid. No settings on sharpness or bitmap or anything makes it even remotely clear to look at. Why you guys ruin this engine with changes like this?
SDF mode the text looks incredibly small and either blurry or too sharp. Bitmap is broken on certain text fields.
Text is too small on sdf, text is broken on bitmap. A total disgrace, sorry for the harsh words.
How does this even pass the QA. Do you guys have that department ? I would love to be part of it.
Tried like 4 versions of unity 6, all just as bad. Back to 2022, the last stable version like in forever.
Well legacy bitmap font provides best 100% text - which is crazy as default is SDF inter and Unity 6 used to be SDF only! But you can scale up SDF if you want bigger text, scaling bitmap will likely be very poor.
But there are also various bugs with the rendering - I created one bug, though think was a duplicate in the end.
It is a poor experience for an LTS release! Part of the problem is not using native font rendering, maybe the other is the developers are on 4k?!

We’ve hit a few unexpected hurdles along the way, but we’re now in the final stages of a PR that ensures text aligns to the pixel grid — delivering results near identical to the previous Text system.
