Force Unity to show the "Load License" dialog instead of just Activate (go online) or Quit!

I have this recurring problem, where Unity revokes its own license seemingly randomly or after the app crashes on a XP-SP3 system. The computer in question doesn’t have internet to reactive the license online. The first time I installed Unity-5 it offered the “Load License” option, but no more.

I can download the license file ok, but there’s no option to re-enable the dialog for ‘Load License’, its either go online to Activate or Quit only.

Why Team Unity continue to enforce this DRM now that U5 is free for personal use is frustrating. UE4 offers an offline option, so why not Unity? (UDK didn’t require any activation.

So, is there a way to re-show the Load License dialog? There’s no Unity.exe command line options to help and uninstalling and reinstalling doesn’t solve it either. Any ideas most welcome as I’ve written to support@unity three times already, and didn’t even get acknowledgement… The FAQ mentions deleting everything in ProgramData, but that applies to Win7 not XP and I cleared out the Registry just in case too but no success. Thanks!

Edit: try deleting the index-local.xml at C:\ProgramData\Unity It will re-trigger the license window.

Sorry my former answers was a bit rude, I did not interpret your question correctly.

No joy, spoke too soon, same problem,. However, its more progress than I was making before.

Deleting the XML file does nothing. But if I bluntly rename the entire Application-Data\Unity folder (effectively deleting it), then Unity does offer the ‘Load License’ option. So I went ahead and used the License I had downloaded previously and it was accepted. But once Unity launched I still got the Re-activate / Quit dialog…

In the end I had to pack up the box and drive to a net café where I reactivated it online. It was a pain, but it worked. So the answer probably lies in that folder somewhere. So I’ll back up the files and see if I can use those as a working backup next time Unity trashes the license. Afterwards, I’ll update the post. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion MarkD, I appreciate the help as it has helped progress this.
