Forsaken Destiny -- Action RPG utilizing input-based commands for attacks.

I while back I designed a bit of an action RPG with Devil May Cry-inspired input commands for attacks.
Since finishing the demo (posted here: http://jrcarvalho.com/fdinfo.html ) I’ve begun redesigning a lot of the systems and gameplay features.

My original intention was to help use the demo as a means for getting myself a job in the industry, as I’m fresh out of school. From what I gather though most of what I did is more in the vein of a design position, which is hard to come by fresh out of school…
The demo makes use of a few packages I purchased on the Asset store, because other than one friend at school doing some modeling work and texturing work for me, the entire thing was a solo effort. The packages I used are:

Frogames Warriors and Commoners (For NPCs)
Ancient Japanese Blades (For weapons involving the Swordsman class)
Tommy’s Skies (Downloaded, but eventually omitted to keep the filesize down)
Castle Environment (For some town environments)
Spearhead Sound Effects (For gameplay and UI sounds)
EPIC Soundtrack Pack (Used in each map except the final map)
Epic Theme 1 (Used during the final boss fight of the demo)

Here’s a brief video of a simple boss fight, with AI driven party members:

It’s not much but I learned a lot working on it and the redesign of much of it will be a relative breeze now. Looking for any feedback (constructive, please  ) that anyone has to offer…

It’s in poor taste, but shameless bump.

Looks great!

Great action.

I’d consider polishing it some more and adding enough game play elements to call it a proper game. If you’re genuinely trying to get “in the industry” it’s all about deliverables. Can you finish what you start? Does your effort result in a shippable product? Answering those questions in advance makes getting hired a lot easier.

I agree whole-heartedly. Admittedly, while working in grad school I was putting together bits and pieces between classes and between work as a teaching assistant to pay for grad school. I’m without those constraints now so I’m redesigning it a bit to make it all flow and work better.

Thanks for the feedback, by the way. I was actually feeling in something of a slump and it helped get me back on track.
