Forum search: why no "search title only"?

Although this forum is a really great place to find help, I am often so frustrated because there is no “search title only” option found on the search page :frowning:

Instead, there is the (absolutely useless) option “search text AND title”. Why not replace this with “search title only”?

Nearly all coding forums I am using provide this option since it is really vital. Imagine you are looking for a thread especially related to Quaternions. A search for “Quaternions” results in almost 2.000(!) threads here, where most of them are not focussed on the topic of Quaternions at all! If you could check “search title only”, you could be sure that the thread’s author was clearly focused on that subject, thus chances are quite good that you’ll find an answer to your question there.

This is really, really vital on a coding forum -and last but not least it would distinctly help to reduce the amount of “useless double-threads” that people post because they weren’t able to find the answer they are looking for.

Are there any chances to add this feature? It would make this forums so much more efficient.

P.S. I did a search for “search title only” to see if this topic has been covered here before… well, try it yourself and look what “useful” results come up… :frowning:

Thanks for helping, aiursrage2k, but the Quaternions stuff was meant as an example only. Actually, I am missing the “search title only” option with EVERY SINGLE search I am doing here, no matter what subject I am looking for, so I am curious if this feature could be added or if I am the only one missing it here :frowning:

Right now, searching this forums and looking for a specific answer is soooo time consuming. If one would be able to search in titles only, thing would be so much easier.

I tend to find Google’s search to be much better for finding stuff on forums.
