Forum usability bug

First of all, sorry if the forum section is not right, but I couldn’t find more suitable one.

I’m using this forum for a long time. I don’t publish much, but there are about 100 of my posts. And I haven’t used to one VERY VERY annoying UI solution that is used on this forum.

Well, when I read a topic and want to post a quick reply, I press “quick reply” button, enter my message in the window… And then I want to submit it. And I press the big blue button at the bottom not reading it. I assume that big blue button below text area is a submit button. And that is NOT right! It is a “reply” button, which forwards me to the new page and I lose everything I’ve typed in.

First, I thought that I can get used to it. But the time goes by and I loose my replies again and again!

You know, in all other GUIs teaches us that the big colorfull button below the text area is a submit button. But your case it is a “dispose all your work without a confirmation” button. And that is really annoying. In most cases I can’t force myself to write down my reply for the 2nd time and just go away dissapointed :frowning:

This happens to me literally every day. It’s so annoying that if I write more than a few lines I’ll copy my text to a text editor before I attempt to submit the message. One sunny day we’ll be free of vBulletin.

In IE press F12 to open developer tools…

…click the “Script” tab…

Click the “Watch” tab on the right…

Click to add and enter: $(‘#newreplylink_bottom’).hide()

Done… button is gone. :stuck_out_tongue:

It is a little bit strange to hear that from an “Administrator”. So, there’s nothing you can do with that?

They are doing something about that; they’re transferring away from vBulletin.
