Found spam in Unity issue tracker

While browsing the Unity Issue Tracker, I noticed the comments on this page are obviously bot-generated and irrelevant to the topic.

Random accounts are spamming links to their websites.

Bring this to Unity’s attention!

We’ve told them many times.

Unity doesn’t care about spam. Neither here, nor in Answers, or in the Issue Tracker.

I made the decision to stop reporting spam and i would like everyone to do that. At some point this will either become a sales hub for weird Keto diets and creams, or it will be dealt with by Unity.

I’ll pass. Unity’s forum staff care about the spam problem even if the division for bug reporting doesn’t, and the moderators are constantly active removing it.

I’m not positive what you’re expecting them to do about it beyond add support for reporting on the sites that lack it. Spam is a never ending tide that can’t be solved through any method of automation. Far better developers than us have tried. It will always involve reporting and manual removal.

No.

Man, you couldn’t be more far from the truth.

etc, etc…

Which means they are trying to do something about it. Which means your statement is dead wrong.

Of course there is no automation that can fight that spam, but Unity could do the same thing they had going with Unity Answers.
When i started my first posts (i think it was like the first 3 posts) they had to be approved by a human being.
I should note that this would also get rid of a large amount of the “I am too lazy to google, i will just ask on the forum” threads. Sometimes it feels like we get the “How can i acces a variable from another script” on a daily basis.

So in short, yes there is a valid option to regulate the spam happening here on the forum. Of course it would cost money for extra staff…and it probably won’t be the greatest job to have.

Anyways, i was just ranting. Reading all that spam makes me angry sometimes
