I have just downloaded Unity to see if I want to invest time/money into it for a potential project. I noticed on the island scene, I drift to the left when not moving.
I have been working on the FPS tutorial and the same thing happens; I drift to the left when not moving. It feels as if you are sliding downhill.
Everything else seems to be working just fine while working in the tutorial.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there a fix?
I am running on vista 64bit, i7 920 processor and 6gb ram.
Have you got a gamecontroller connected to your machine? If it’s not perfectly centered, it could cause drifting of the nature you describe. I don’t know offhand if the Unity component involved uses input from gamecontrollers, but it seems like a fair bet that it might.
As a matter of fact, I do. My joystick is still hooked up. I’ll disconnect it tonight and see if that corrects the drift.
I was looking in the scripts and settings to see if something was a bit off. Never thought about my joystick
Pulled my joystick and viola! No more drift!
Guess my joystick needs to be re-calibrated
