I am not sure how answerable this is, but I am wondering, on average, how much of a difference there is in the fps of a Unity game running on a new (model) iPod touch vs. and old one vs. old iPhone vs. new iPhone.
I only have a recent iPod touch to test on so I have been unable to compare, but from what I have heard there seems to be a large performance difference.
So for example, to get 20 fps on an old iPod touch, what would your game need to run at on a new one? Obviously there are other factors, but in general…
As a general guide aim for 30 fps on a 2nd gen iPod to get 20 fps on an iPhone2G/3G and iPod 1st gen (your mileage may vary, but this has been our experience).
Thanks. That’s what I was looking for.
