FPS vs TPS flight camera

Hey all, I’ve been working on a flight simulator and decided to make it in a First person point of view like you are the pilot in the flight seat but didn’t quite care for it much so I was wondering if anyone played enough games to decide if flight simulators are best in a combat situation as a third person camera (the co-pilot dragged behind the plane with a camera) or the First person setup - FPS flight sims have that sense or realism I want but the Third person ones like Defender has that intensity I’m looking for in combat. SO I’m looking for suggestions, anyone?

Thanks.

umm i’mnot varry smart but you cold make all the cantroles and stuff into GUItextures and text so it follows the fps mouse look scrypt

Why not add both?

There are times when I am searching for the most “realistic” experience, in which case I would want cockpit view (I personally always use it when available) but if you can’t decide, make two camera objects and switch between the two. Also, if at any time you decide one is better than the other, it would be a relatively simple task to delete one.

My thought exactry.

FPS is a best choice for simulator.
TPS is better choice for arcade style gameplay.

IMHO. And I love and play both.

I have come to loath those words, amongst my internetly travels.

Great, thanks guys - I’ll defiantly make both the cameras and prolly make an option to switch views in game and see which one I like :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks again!

Definitely should stay FPS. This game’s goal is to show just how cool and intuitive can a FPS shooter become with the right mechanics and ideas.
