Framerate drops from 90fps to 35-60fps...Need some help

Hi,

I just upgraded to Unity 2017, and am not sure exactly what could be causing my issue.

I am using an Oculus Rift… bought it from Bestbuy last Xmas… I always get the versions confused so I’ll call it a consumer version.

My project/game was running at a solid 90fps in the previous version of Unity… I believe it was the March update 5.X.X. After updating to 2017… Framerate has dropped to 35-60fps. Also, when the game starts everything becomes choppy dropping FR to 2-6fps… Then it kind of smooths out for a bit, then may freeze for a few seconds 1-2 times per minute… Super annoying, and nauseating…

Does anyone know of any issues that might be causing this. I have re-baked Occlusion, but other than that nothing else has changed.

I would suggest you hit the profiler and tell us what is consuming the most millisecs. That’ll be your answer.
