Framerate independent Process

Can this be considered a simple yet effective framerate independent method ?

void Update()

    if (Time.deltaTime < SPECIFIC_AMOUNT_OF_FIXED_TIME) return;



This code will only make that whatever comes after this check in your Update will never be run for people with a fast computer. Time.deltaTime will then always be smaller than this value and thus nothing will ever happen. On the other hand for people with a slower computer this will do nothing.
