Not sure if this has been posted. With the new Mecanim features in Unity 4, I’ve been looking for reusable animation assets. I stumbled across this site tonight with a ton of free and premium FBX animation files. (Thousands of free animations!)

I haven’t had a chance to check out Unity 4’s mecanim. What does it take for an animation to be reusable?
Can you use any character’s animation?
Yes. Bipeds especially. Its a simple matter of dropping an animation into their animation tree (its Animator) and giving it a parameter on which to trigger.
These are raw mocap animations though, so you will need to trim out the parts that fit best, are able to loop, etc. Fortunately, Unity also has features to do that, and there are some great tutorials for it out there.
