has anyone tried it
123D? eh? odd name
link? (i guess you mean something different then 123d)
No, it is 123d. Google it. The 123 is meant to mean simplicity, and then 3d? Something like that.
Ok, i’ve seen it, read about it, read some threads on the 123dapp forum etc…
This tool is not for game dev’s at all.
export (save as) supports the following formats: STL, SAT, DWG, STP and its native 123D
(thus no OBJ or something more useful for us developers)
123dapp is build to quickly make a 3d model and then “print” it out to a 3d printer etc… (hence the formats)
It’s the goal of 123dapp (as an autodesk representative said so herself on the forums).
Thus… conclusion: useless for Unity (pro) usage.
I doubt it will happen anytime soon but IF it becomes popular enough perhaps Unity might start supporting the 123d format natively, maybe
But there’s little cause for it since tight-budgeted devs already have Blender which will be 50 times more powerful
50x harder to use though. For NOOBS it might be good enough to make simple “filler” models.
who knows what other features it will have because its still in beta
anyway looks like I’ll just stick with blender for now
Seems like an even more toned version of Inventor Fusion…
Not really a fan of what there doing there
Yeah, you do have a point there!
Unless it doesn’t have the ability to animate, then it wouldn’t really be worth the missing programming for animations.
