free camtasia alternatives

thanks rab…I was on downloads.com looking at different solutions before getting on here.

I was looking at Camtasia but the reviews weren’t that great- that’s why I’d like to know what their
favorite free screen capture software.

The latest version of Camasia Studio may not be free, but they gave away Camasia Studio 3.1.2
for free a long time ago. Free as in “not a trial”.

when I replied to rab, I made a typo- i meant Camstudio. I downloaded, but haven’t installed it due to poor reviews. I ended up looking for more found GoView from Citrix, though it’s in beta I may give it a whirl.

scratch that…that GoView is OLD

finally found a good FREE screen recording software in case anyone else is looking:

if you are on a mac you can use the quicktime player to record your screen really easily. just do a file->new screen recording :wink:

will have to remember that when I get a new Mac…haven’t owned/used 1 in years…

For recording games too. It’s now better than fraps.
