[FREE] Impedance - infinite arcade tap game

Hello, I’m SOUL, and although this is not my first game in the makings, it is the first game I published.

Impedance is all about attempting to relay a signal as the last remaining electron while evading other “corrupted” electrons, acting as resistance. In everything besides easy, touching the isolation is also penalized. The game, of course, has no end, and is all about setting a high score. Infinite tappers usually focus on rewarding focus and consistency, while Impedance is all about rewarding flexibility (as the more you play, the faster you go). Of course, there is a limit to how fast you can go due to the game being hard as is.

There are 3 modes which you can play in: easy, classic and hard. Easy is all about slowing down at the edges to teach the player to tap in time as to not connect with them, and even if you do make a mistake, you will bounce off an edge. In classic and hard, there is no mechanic like that, and instead you will instantly lose if you touch the edges or a corrupted electron. The difference between hard and classic is the speed - hard is approximately 25% faster, and while that doesn’t seem a lot, during testing it used to be more, but I found it to be too hard (plus the people I shared my WIP with seemed to share the same opinion).

Currently, there are 9 achievements, each unlocked at the score of 10, 20 and 50 respectively, separated by modes (10 in Hard is worth more than 50 in Easy).

I got this very simple idea and just wanted to turn it into something concrete. At the start I didn’t know how to use bloom or image effects in general, so I hand-drew the glowing electrons, obstacles and particles. At the end, I used it to polish the game. Overall, this game ended up being a good learning experience in both the coding and the graphical area for me, instead of some super serious project. In the end, I got something that isn’t terribly addicting for everyone, yet is quite a challenge and can consume a lot of time.

As of now, the game is only available on Android, however, if there is some interest, I could release it for Windows phone officially, and/or iOS unofficially (I don’t have the licence).

I’d be interested to hear feedback if you decide to spare some time. I’ll probably be updating the game from time to time, adding things like themes and possibly some minor sound effects (started off without because I remember people usually turn off the sound to focus anyways). I hope you enjoy my little creation!
