Hey guys!

I made this script ages ago, converted this into an editor extension just now. Sharing this for free with the devs as it’s essential I feel.

You can take hi-res screenshots of the camera view with a click of the button now. (From the scene/game view)

Features:

  • Take the Hi-Res Camera Render Screenshot (with/without alpha channel)
  • Set your own resolution
  • One click from the Scene/Game View

Wow, this is soooo great! No more needing to run the game or test it in the editor and then struggle to click exactly (with a 3rd party program) when it’s needed.

Having said that, is there a hot-key which is available, for instant screenshot while the game’s running during test times? (within the editor, I mean) The one-click button is great, but is it possible to key-map a hotkey for doing the same thing, such as ctrl+M or anything like that?

I searched the asset store for this before uploading this - maybe I took a few ideas off Screenshot Creator. My apologies.

It only works on Unity Pro. Do you have Unity free or pro?

I’m hoping to use Unity 5 for production-quality realtime rendering for CG filmmaking. So the ability to take 4K to 8K screenshots with all camera effects would be a perfect solution. However, it doesn’t seem to capture camera effects. Any chance this could be added for Unity 5 (Personal and Pro since they are essentially the same now)?

Will the update also require Unity Pro?

I tried what’s available in the asset store now and it just produced a solid grey image.

How would I be able to add my own custom size as the default
Same with directory to save
Also, when going to maxed view and then back again to normal layout, the tool disappears, I have to re-initialize.
I am on 2018.4
