I’m looking for freeware or low-priced 3D modeling and CAD software that is easy to use. I tried Blender 3D and found it too hard for me to use. I don’t have the money to buy AutoCAD and 3D Studio MAX. Any suggestions?
This topic has been asked many times before. Give the forums a search and I’m sure you’ll find several threads on the topic. If the application exports .OBJ or .FBX it will work with Unity.
If you have a Mac, you cannot beat Cheetah3D
I have PC running Windows 7 64-bit. Two of low-priced 3D modeling programs that I tried out are AC3D and MilkShape. I have been using GMAX for creating content for Auran Trainz programs for a long time but Autodesk made a very stupid mistake of discontinuing GMAX.
Get blender 2.5 brand new interface meant to match high end software its sleek black and with a professional layout if I were you I’d try it. There has never been a better time to try blender, just watch some tutorials its so much easier then you think I promise you that. best of luck, side note what do you consider cheap? Xsi could be cheap depending on your standards, maybe art cam for your cad software? I am not sure on art cams price I used it for drafting before though. Took 10 minutes to learn very similar to illustrator.
