From Toon Boom/Flash to 3D Studio Max. Only one row of keyframes?

So just for fun I’ve started looking into 3D Studio Max for doing 2D Animations using planes. When reading about animation and looking at tutorials I can’t help notice that you only have one row of keyframes visible at a time? Coming from Flash and Toon Boom Animate where you have keyframes for each object / layer how can I get this kind of view inside 3d studio max? I won’t get any good overview of my keyframes if I only can see the keyframes of the currently selected object. Is this the way it’s meant to be? It must be a real mess if you for example want to animate arms moving at the same time as the legs (but with a slight offset), you would get a bunch of keyframes in the same view, or you would only be able to see arm keyframes or legkeyframes at one time? Is there like an overview mode I can enable or something like that?

Thanks!

Curve Editor is probably what you need. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rw3rJUawBCo
