I learned about frustums sometime last year or so, when learning more about Unity’s cameras. However, I have been using the word “frustrum” instead, because I did not do a good job of reading.
Searching these boards, I found 73 matching posts for “frustrum” versus 186 for “frustum”. 28% of relevant posts are using the wrong word! I’m not alone in my mistake. I just had this realization earlier this week, and although this thread won’t get to everyone who needs help, I will put it here, in hope that it will benefit some! :o
Wow. Shit. Now, what can I say… Same thing here. Always read frustRRRRRRum. Sounds way better, though. Oh, and I like the “frustration” part in the wikipedia note. Makes totally sense to me.
That’s exactly what I thought! “How could I have missed such a thing?!”, said I to self.
However, you’ll find that not one “frustrum” on these boards was donated by me, outside of this thread. And I do very little typing about technical topics outside of these boards and code. Apparently I’ve only been using it in internal monologue and speech!
Well, f*** me running!
Though there seems to be no such option in Snow Leopard and Safari 4, there’s another option called “Automatic by Language”. Thank you for the hint, though!
You must have a pretty unique dictionary there. It is only frustum according to the 3 dictionaries I have, in addition to dictionary.com, OS X spellcheck, and Google spellcheck.
