Full LEGO Star Wars: The Quest for R2D2 is now online!

We are very proud to announce that the full version of our LEGO Star Wars game is finally online!

We developed the game here at Three Melons, and it features 20 hrs. of gameplay on a Unity web game!

You can play at:

Cheers!

I’m not sure if it was responsible, but the game crashed when I was gathering yellow gems on the first mission right after passing the T-intersection and going into the control-roomish area. I was also logged in and in full-screen mode.

Other than that, awesome!

Looks really good. Really professional.

Ran around a bit, collected the gems and killed a droid. Prefer more freedom of character movement and camera controls tho.

This game is amazing!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Your game is AWESOME and I am really proud to be using Unity when I see things as cool as this

When I Start first mission, appear a error about Unity Web Player.

I use Chrome and Iexplorer 8.

AWESOME WORK! Really inspirational.

  1. It’s for kids, primarily.
  2. You’ve obviously never played Lego Star Wars (or the Star Wars EP3 game I made). It’s all about rail cameras, hack and slash and just simple fun. They’re not Jedi Knight.

Hopefully, this will give Unity a huge boost out in the world.

Again, AWESOME WORK! Is Lego Indy next?

Glad the full version is out. My three kids and I are all having fun playing this together!
Great work.

Great game : fun to play like all Lego games !

Some more moves , combos for more adult people would be cool. But good game indeed.

Great game
just like the lego star wars game on the psp
but only this time in a webplayer
awsome job!

Stand alone game, please?

Awesome stuff as always from you ThreeMelons folks!

Very nice, but it crashes randomly for me too. I’m guessing it’s the usual OpenAL crapfest.

Unity really needs to sort out its audio stability.

Good job Unity 2.6 totally replaced OpenAL with a completely different audio backend, then, eh?

–Eric

Aaaah! Just saw this. Very exciting stuff. Can’t wait to rebuild my game in 2.6.

My apologies for ranting.

Hey, OpenAL is kind of lousy. Your timing was perfect though.

–Eric

Thanks all for your comments!

It would be great but depends on LEGO.

We are planning to release soon a new version of the game built with Unity 2.6 in order to remove the audio clicks and pops and add SSAO. This version will include some performance optimizations and fix some bugs as well.

Eric5h5, what’s the name of this new audio backend?

One of the UT team recently referenced the “new FMod Audio” on this forum, so I would assume that’s what’s being used. It would make sense, given that FMod is available across a very wide range of platforms, including all the consoles Unity is targetting. Not sure if it supports the IPhone, but IPhone dev is necessarily quite separate anyway.

FMOD is awesome! I hope that’s true).

Yes, FMOD does support iPhone.
