Full Screen crashes after a while

Hi there,

I’ve got a Unity app I’m working on for an installation so it needs to run for a long time without problems. I’ve discovered that my build, running in full screen, crashes after running for a bit for no obvious reason. I checked the log file and it doesn’t contain anything that illuminates the situation any further.

However, I’m inclined to believe that the crash is somehow linked to full screen mode. Earlier today I had it running on a machine from the Unity editor for three hours or so without a hitch. I’ve got a standalone build running right now in windowed mode that has been running for longer than it has ever lasted in full screen mode.

I’m having a hard time finding the cause, but it seems related to full screen mode?

Also, possibly related, I cannot seem to get the app to run at all with a x64 build running full screen. Windowed is fine. I may end up using the “-popupwindow” command line arg in the end, but I’d still like to see if I can work this out.

Does this happen with any of your other projects, or just this one?
What OS are you running? And do you have ATI or AMD?

If this can help: I can in no way make a build with the ANTIALIAS option active in quality settings on Unity 3.5.
If I do, it can’t even open the screen and only keeps flickering.

Usually I work on a Mac, but this project is being developed on a Windows 7 PC with an ATI 7900 series. I haven’t tried any of my other projects on it.

Some people are having problem with ATI and AMD products. Try sending it (the project) to a PC without ATI. And check if the problem is fixed. If it worked it might be because of your pc specs.
