We are excited to announce our Oculus Rift demo has landed! We built it with serious games and training in mind. The demo is based on our much loved oilrig environment; the player takes part from the prospective of a helicopter winch man.
Development with the Oculus was an exciting and new immersive experience, ‘lets have a go’ was a phrase heard quite frequently. The Oculus really demonstrates a sense of being part of the action. We found that the use of headphones with external noise cancellation really imparts itself to sensing the action.

I tried it out, very cool you really get a sense of how big these things are. Does the night scene in the screenshot cycle in automatically? I still cant spend too much time in VR without getting nauseous.

The night scene does not cycle in, rather the demo is split into two parts. Part One is a walk around which takes plave at daytime and allows you to explore the rig at your leisure.
Part Two is the Search Rescue element which takes place at night time. To toggle between the two modes you simply hit the Enter button. We’ll update the build with a start up flashcard so as players can understand this better.
