FYI - Unity 4 scripting videos

Packt publishing have brought out several video series for Unity developers.
Unity Game Development by Example
Getting started with Unity Scripting
Mastering Unity 4 scripting.
All in the C# language. I wanted to mention them even if I can’t give a detailed review, just as a pointer to other non-coders who would like to get into coding. I went through them over a couple of days. They are broken into short , digestable chunks and very easy to understand. They’ve helped me quite a bit. I’ve found all 3 series to be excellent and I would suggest if you want to get a headsup on scripting for Unity you at least take a look at them, especially if you’re not a confident coder like me. I’m not normally a C# coder but try a bit in the hopes of rewriting various NGUI scripts to adapt the inventory to my own needs and these videos are proving invaluable with that sort of stuff. On my second viewing of the mastering Scripting I noticed it refreshed thigs a bit after completely ignoring the code and buggering about setting up scenes, I always have a few days of having to wrap my head around coding again, so far these have fast forwarded all that stuff. I’ve even found it easier to locate items of interest there than in most books, and watching someone code and listen to the explanation does help I must admit.
I know there are quite a few non-professional videos for scripting, but these do have the edge because the production values are better - not many hmmms and aahs.

A link would be helpful…

Is Google broken?

That is one of them. Feel free to search on packtpub for the others.

I don’t wish to be a slave to google…

@ Others: Thanks for the link

Then forget scripting.

This is a friendly community… there’s no need for snarky comments. Google isn’t the only player in the game and Max is free to use what he feels works best for him.

I was using “Google” as a catch all term for search engines, clearly.

Sorry, guys. No excuses for not posting the links, I’ll add them now. Thanks to thiagofdp for putting a link up .

Seems like an odd arrangement of topics, but still a good find.
