Galaxy S debugging request

Hi, we have android 3 devices to test on and our code runs perfectly on all three. Some users who download our app complain that they experience problems from the very beginning…it appears to not work properly at all. All such bug reports are coming from users with Galaxy S phones, or variants of them.

Is there any chance someone with a Galaxy S on hand would be willing to help us resolve this issue by testing the app on their phone?

Thanks in advance.

Just to be sure: You best aks them if they updated to 2.2 at least, otherwise its just cause its not supported due to a major OS bug in Galaxy S on Android 2.1

I’m positive they updated to 2.2 as they specified this in an email to us. Besides, the player settings minimum API level is set to 2.2 anyway.

Note: We’ve tested and confirmed it working on Galaxy Tab, Motorola Xoom, and several HTC smartphones…

Update: our client is pulling their hair out…

Despite very stringent android manifest requirements, many users are still reporting problems and the game is virtually unplayable on certain devices…until the android store gives developers better control over who can download the app we are basically stuck.

You can block out specific devices now, look at the bottom of the publishing page for your game.

Is this new feature documented anywhere? Unity docs or android docs or otherwise? Thanks.

I think he might mean on Android Market. Makes sense that you can restrict who can see your app in the market so the phone won’t see it if it’s not supported.

I haven’t published anything but if so, thats pretty cool.

I’m using a Galaxy S! Would be glad to test it for you!

Yes that was what i meant, on the page you use to publish your games you can remove certain phones you dont want to see your game/app. There is a TON of different models though so it’s pure pain to go through that list :stuck_out_tongue:
