When I test my game in the editor and hit play the sound sounds fine. When I make a build and play it, the sound is sounding like it is being played twice at the same time. It sounds louder and there is an echo which makes me think it is being played twice. Anybody encounter something like this before?

I don’t know of any reason why that would happen (in the build versus in the editor), and without more details, it’s hard to say what the problem is. How is the sound being triggered? (Could it be that two separate game objects are playing the sound, or that the sound is being triggered 2x instead of 1? What type of build are you using (desktop/web/mobile)?).
It is a Mac/Desktop build. The sound is being fired by a trigger (gameobject with box collider). I can check again for some double firing but I don’t see any right now. Wouldn’t that also happen in the editor game view?
In your AudioSource component, if you have “Play on Awake” checked it will also play when that component is activated. If your AudioSource and triggered object are both activated at the same time it might play a double sound. But that would happen in the editor as well so I’m not sure if that could be the problem.
If you are triggering the clip through a script, have you tried putting a Debug statement in (and checking the webplayer log, to see if it is indeed triggering 1 or 2x)? But, it’s odd that it would behave differently in a desktop build.
