The Prime31 GameCenter plug in works with Unity 3 Basic and is only $75. That’s just not much money when you consider how much time it would take you learn objective C and role you own.
I just had a game go live with it last night! Woot!
wow grats the game looks great anyway what do u mean unity 3? unity iphone is 1.7 or atleast the one i have and unity is 2.6 do i have to buy the unity 3 WITH the unity iphone 3 or whats the deal lol
kenlem,
Any chance at getting some code snippets on how you implemented the GameCenter plugin? I’m having a terrible time figuring out how to implement Game Center, there aren’t any tutorials and I could really use a practical example.
No,
Unity3 has a free license just as Unity 2.6, just download it, activate as a Free license and use it. I THINK its the same license as the 2.6 Basic, but for Unity 3.
I also want to know how to integrate Game Center with my game with no Plugin, as I cant afford one now and I dont want to wait until I have money for it. If you find something, please post here or PM me, and Ill do the same if I find it.
That would be great. I have looked at the scene. I just don’t know how to use the delegates and events that are provided. The only thing i can’t figure out is how to check when you have found a player. I want to find the match, then when the player has been found, load the proper scene.
You would have to update Unity iPhone to 3 also. I don’t know what the upgrade price is as I bought the pre-release Unity 3 earlier in the year, not as an upgrade.
You don’t say if you are using basic or pro 1.7. Plugins work with all versions of Unity iPhone 3, but only the pro version of 1.7.
He said in his original topic, he’s using the Basic license.
If you install Unity 3, you will have a Unity iPhone 3 installed too, then you open the project and it will prompt you to upgrade the project to the newer version. Click ‘Ok’ and it will do it for you automatically.
As far as I remember, you don’t loose any references or anything by doing that. At least I didnt, but I work on Unity3 Pro.
If you feel like, make a backup and try it. You can’t loose anything if you back it up.
