Game Concept: Cells

The general idea of the game is that you create, modify, and delete living cells. They could be plant, animal, bacterial, etc. The cells would each contain their own organelles that behave as you would expect. They would float in the cytoplasm. Some would move around slowly and bounce into others.

So what’s the point of the game? It wouldn’t be very intense game-play, but a great way to study for a Biology test on cells. It could definitely be fun to play around with for 10 minutes.

Any thoughts?

That sounds rather complex. Do you have an idea of how the implementation would work? Spore (which imo doesn’t sound as complex) took 3 years or so in development with an extremely large/talented team. This would be quite the undertaking.

This project wouldn’t be as complex as Spore (great game, by the way).

When I say “create and edit cells” I am simply referring to controlling where organelles are, how many there are, and what functions they have. You wouldn’t have as much control.

There wouldn’t be the extensive gameplay that you see in Spore. It would only be a simulation that you could control as it goes.

Graphics, models, and animations would not need to be very complex. They are mostly blobs of material, and there would only need to be a hundred or so different organelle models.

you mean like CellCraft?

Oooh lol!

It would be something like that I suppose. Again, this was just a concept.

Myth, it’s a great idea and you have a bona-fide vision for the game. It’s a winner! Now comes the time to sweat for a few years to make it actually happen. Do what you can, find others to do what you can’t do, and be the force behind the project!

CellCraft is 2d. Make something 3d and you’ll blow their genome right out of the cytoplasm!

Nice
