Game Dev Survey

Hello Game Devs,

I’m working on a project right now, trying to learn what I can do to help with your game dev process.

In short, I’m trying to understand what are the biggest pain points in game development, and how third-party technologies are being used.

Survey link: Game Dev Survey

If there is enough interest, I will add a follow-up comment here later to post the results of the survey.

Thank you for your time!

Why would anyone click a link that looks as dubious as that from somebody with no posts who only ever registered today?

I apologize, I’m new to these forums since I am not a game developer. I want to build software to help game developers, but in order to do that first I must understand the issues game developers are facing. So I’m using this survey just to try and collect some data so I can understand where to start.

Typeform is a forms website similar to google forms, see: https://twitter.com/typeform?lang=en

Can confirm that it is a genuine poll.

@Murgilod Links are not as dangerous today as they were 15+ years ago. The likelyhood that such a narrow/targeted post uses an exploit that a current browser has not fixed yet is near nil.

There are more ways for a link to be dubious than browser exploits.

Then why not just use google forms, the thing everyone knows about?

I suggest that you refrain from asking for personal information if you want someone to submit their answers. This question was where I left:

Yeah, I didn’t go past that as well…
Ballpark number of employees of the company and the industry category should suffice. Maybe plus the number of coworkers involved in the same project as you so that corporations do not completely shift the data.
Enough that we put our CV on LinkedIn and similar
