Can I get any advise from this forum on a decently priced game development machine? I’m fine with either a tower or a laptop. I’m not in need of a display if it’s a tower, but I do prefer a Windows based machine, I guess that I’ll make a trip to Mac-land or Linux-land if I need to.
So can I have any suggestions on what new game development station I should purchase?
I guess I shouldn’t ask “What game development computer should I buy?”. That’s too broad of a question. I should request the location of a computer dealing site that had a program that could ask me my choices for the processor, memory, hard drive, video card, and router. Then I need suggestions for all the categories listed. I’m looking for something in the $250.00 - $500.00 range.
And I guess a tower is fine. I’m just looking for a video game development system with a semi-decent speed.
It depends on what you’re making. If you’re making a fancy 3d game you probably want to go spend $800 on a nice tower and components. Laptops <$500 are a scary place to be, I’d stick with DIY tower and components.
Ok, thank you. I’m not really concerned with fancy-ness. At the time being I’m mostly about 2d gaming. I think I’ll get a tower. So any recommendations?
