Game Over Man

Hi,
I’m Korda from 8 Bit Warlock, an indie team of 3 developers
We have been hard at work for the last few months developing Game Over Man. A ‘Tactical Defence’ game where you control a squad of elite marines defending spaceships against waves of alien invaders. We are happy to announce that you can play the Pre-Alpha build of Game Over Man right now!

Here are some early screenshots of the game:

We would love some feedback on the game and would like you to consider joining our forums at: http://www.8bitwarlock.com/forum/

You’re not a man/woman of many words, but your game is great! I always enjoyed these top down tactical games.

I left a feedback at the survey but I’ll copy here as well:
The only unclear information was related to fixing the turrets with the engineer. My first instinct was to select the engineer and then right click the turret but that didn’t work, eventually I figured out that I had to move him next to the turret. Whatever method is ok, but the tutorial should clear that out.

edit: when I wrote this there was nothing but a link, hence my first sentence :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks diegzumillo,
It’s great to hear that you liked our game so far. Thanks for the feedback on the engineer we will work on communicating his ability better in the next build.

We are planning to release updates every fortnight.

Like the game, like the Aliens reference of the title. Keep up the good work

Thank you kind sir! We are a little worried about the title. We all like it but we really don’t want to get sued by Mr Scott.

Looks really good and I’m going to give this a really indepth try

REALLY good. Cant wait to see where this goes!

Thanks Myhihim!

But damn I wanted that flamethrower guy haha

I don’t think you could get sued on that one. The attachment to the movie is pretty loose. I like it as a title

@ Myhijim Yeah we did put him in the level to test him out but he made things way too easy. He will probably be in the next build though.
@SteveJ We think it will be fine too. Thanks!

I honestly, cannot wait

Love the looks of this game. Good draw on the sci-fi “aliens meet space marines for lunch” bit too.

Thanks Asvarduil! I was disappointed that there isn’t a user called Alien posting on our thread though.

I love the style of this. Now I feel the urge to try and make System Shock 2 run on my comp again.

Hey I just started a youtube channel dedicated to games if I can put up a preview or review video of your game that would be awsome

Thanks MaxieQ
@leoarmstead, We aren’t really ready for a big marketing push yet. Once we have more content we will look at distributing material for previews and reviews.

Hi everybody,

We had plenty of people play the first public build of Game Over Man and we just wanted to say thank you for all the feedback you provided.

In our latest fortnightly update we have included an early version of the second level of the game. This level consists of the life support system and the surrounding corridors. Life support controls oxygen levels and will affect gameplay once we add things like airlocks to the level.

Level 2 also adds three new elements to the game. The Flamer Marine that we detailed in a previous post, barricades and the medium tier alien.

The medium alien is tougher than its smaller counterpart and does more damage.

Barricades are essential for survival in Game Over Man and can be used to slow down or funnel enemies so your marines and turrets can take them out.

Please try out the latest version of Game Over Man and continue to leave your feedback and join the forum.

Hi everybody,

First of all thank you very much for the feedback!

We have a relatively small update this week, with a lot of work being put in behind the scenes. The biggest addition to the latest build is the inclusion of airlocks. Click on one and watch as your enemies are dragged out and flung into the cold depths of space.
The second level is now 10% prettier and tutorial messages have been added for the new features (like airlocks!).

Please try out the latest version of Game Over Man and continue to leave your feedback and join the forum.
