Game portal/sites that accept Unity?

Is there a list of game sites that do/don’t accept Unity games?

I know of

Do’s

Don’ts
www.kongregate.com

???

Zapak.com (see Eric5h5’s post below)

found another thread saying “but you can also consider UltimateArcade.com as well”, but the submit page says flash games only. So I need to investigate more.

personally I am looking for kongregate style. I am ot looking to make mney directly off the site, more to ue it for exposure. kongregate allows you to link back to your site, I don’t think shockwave does.

Cheers,
GRant

Supposedly zapak.com, but they have some kind of online high score mechanism that you need to implement, and I wasn’t able to figure it out. The main problem being that you can’t test in on your end; they have to test in on their end because of how it’s set up. I tried a couple of times going by the APIs, but didn’t get anywhere. I asked for some source code so I could see how it’s done, but they kept saying they didn’t have any source code that was made for Unity games. I said I didn’t care about that–I was looking for any kind of source code at all, but I guess the message didn’t get through. The payment’s not exactly top-tier anyway.

when you publish your game at www.shockwave.com
Did you get commision by number of impressions / number of play ?

I can’t find any information on their site, except this “submit your game” link:

Does all that information under NDA ? anyone care to share about their experience with www.shockwave.com ?

You get a percentage share of ad-revenue based on the number of game play sessions.

UltimateArcade.com said they were in support of Unity content as of Unite '07, but I haven’t been on top of that since then. Additionally, I spoke with the Kongregate folks (again) last month and they continue to express a high level of interest in supporting Unity content but they’re just a bit too busy with internal infrastructure work. I’m due to ping them again as last we talked we discussed the end of January being the next time they can adequately look into this (time wise).

Re: UltimateArcade.com
They’re definitely open to it. Case in point, we published our game Make Bouncy Bouncy with them last year.

Since then, I think they even rolled their own Unity kart game and put it up.

Their site still doesn’t say they support Unity, but I’m guessing it simply hasn’t been updated; from here, they’re open to it if they like the content.

Hey but this isn’t necessarily a big thing for unity games but hopefully it eventually will be a place for all unity games, a link of the unity file there, they have a copy on there site but then have a copy where everyone knows where it is.

http://www.unity3dgallery.com

nice one bloodtiger10,
so is this unity3dgallery going to work like www.shockwave.com but spesifically designed for Unity games ?

and also using a percentage share of ad-revenue system like what Tom said earlier ??

the way it works, is this, you submit your game that’s it for now you can add ads to your game but I don’t collect a percentage at all. It is all your money that you make. This portal will be only for unity games and you can add you own ad code to your games for a splash screen with an ad, like this game (not on the portal but some idea stickarena.com) after you finish a round it displays and ad for 30 seconds. You can do that but no ad all the time for your game that is the only thing I am against also against well things illegal if I find that in one game I will delete it right away.

My experiences with BigFishGames (cross posted for reference):

Had a long discussion with BigFishGames and they told me (even recently) that they still not accept Unity-made games as they are still “watching” how it develops. Talked there to Jennifer Davison.

January 2008:

Almost a year now, I should re-contact them to see what they say today.

god yes please do! i don’t know. all the pimping i’ve done and the stuff i’ve worked on maybe accounts for 100K downloads . i don’t have any stats on that and have no idea what it really is. just saying that if the answer is still the same, this ought to be priority for us as well as UT.

[edit: sorry for the ot!]

It’s already a priority for us and with any luck we’ll have movement soon.

i know it is for UT. was pointing at us users

i was joking on the god mode stuff. just felt like 100K was boasting even though it isn’t all that much. i have no idea how many installs i’ve influenced and no way to track it. could be more. could be less. several games. lots of pimpin. even built a walk thru for a patio i had put in last summer so my landscaper had to install
(yeah ok he isn’t exactly our target. his daughter is tho. pimp the U!)

There’s Wooglie now ;).

http://www.smashgamez.com uses unity!

Please don’t necro(post on an old out of date thread this one from 2009/2011) old threads start a new one if you wish to talk about something was discussed on an old thread.
