Im currently making a survival game, at the moment is just a island with some trees, but I have planned what I want to do:
-You start in a random point of a random island, so you dont know anything abot the island you are in (You have a map so actually you know the shape:P) the first thing you need tl do is take a stone from the ground and chop a tree, and with the wood start making tools. You can make until iron tier, and, to upgrade your tools and armor you need to go to the “Dark Deeps” (Some hell/cave world) by going through a portal. In that world you can upgrade your tier, but there are a lot of monsters (There are monsters in the island too, but only at night) the main goal is to survive, the monsters are 5% stronger every day.
I have planned more things like villages, goblin camps, ruined towers(With ghost soldiers)…
If you are out of ideas right now you could try to use some of the name generators found on the web. Even if they are not for the exact use case you might still get some new ideas. And I would try to keep the game concept in mind all the time and think how well the current name idea would represent your game concept, mood, style and so on.
I would suggest a hidden map that show what has been explored, maybe with some way points to major objectives, add a maze of sorts, good mechanic in this situation.
