Games made with Unity you're currently playing

I’m playing Death’s Door. I didn’t get it for anything other than curiosity and I heard nothing about it.

Turns out to be a really fun chill soulslike and I did laugh quite a bit at times. I like this game! What games are you playing that were made with Unity?

Minion Masters, unity watermarked it by pink rectangles from time to time.

Both games that have been taking up a lot of my time have been made on Unity it seems.

  • Pathfinder: Kingmaker
  • Valheim

Also been playing the recently release The Good Life by crazy Japanese director Swery, and while I cannot for the life of me find out what engine it was made with, it definitely feels like Unity.

There’s a number of other games on my currently installed Steam library that I can see were made with Unity too.

I’m a bit behind with games lately, currently play ‘For the King!’ and ‘Disco Elysium’ when I have the time and I’m in the mood.

I need to pick up Disco Elysium again, I couldn’t take the tree shading being broken on AMD cards (they were flickering all over the place and was super distracting) and I stopped playing, but maybe it’s fixed now?

Also the Outer Wilds DLC.

I also want to finish Below, which asked for more commitment from me than I was willing to give at the time…
nvm Below isn’t Unity.

I recently got a Minute of Islands in one of the recent Unity Humble Bundles. I thought it was very good. It’s short, but I love short games. If I see a game on Steam that has negative reviews for being too short, then I add it to my wish list. :stuck_out_tongue:

This one is probably in-house. And rather than looking like unity it looks more like a “pre-pbr” game. You can also go into game folder and check. Unity projects have a specific folder structure.

Disco Elysium, actually. I’ve started it, put it on hold, and plan to finish it.

The rest of the stuff does not use unity.

Looks like my intuition was right!

IDK, if these screenshots/renders are representative a little bit, it more like low-poly-esque/ish style with PBR and heavy bloom everywhere.

Well, that’s unity, alright.

They’re not. Those are kickstarter screenshots from something like a prototype.
Check steam page for the game instead.

There’s bump-mapping, and shiny modern surfaces (apparently only on one character) but overall it heavily resembles pre-pbr game. With photographed textures and all.

Well last Unity games I played were Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 and the Last Campfire. Really liked how Car Mechanic mods work and Last Campfire is a really chill game.

Thing is to note… when we are casually playing Unity games and it only occurs to us to check after we’ve been playing them, it means that Unity isn’t really in a bad place for making games. IMHO & YMMV

Necropolis, Grime, Hellpoint

Trying to finally get through Pillars of Eternity

Playing For The King coop with my kids occasionally.

One kid is in the middle of playing Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak.

Oxygen Not Included.

Yeah, I agree with that. I didn’t realize about Car Mechanic until I went ahead and searched for mods. I read about modifying the StreamingAsset folder and went to see the folder structure.

Yeah that isn’t the case though.

Disco Elysium trees glitching all over the place? Must be Unity!

Outer Wilds stuttering and performing like crap? Must be Unity!

Death’s Door having controller problems on launch (they used the new input system)? Must be Unity!

Some people can make great games in spite of Unity, not because of it.

I haven’t really played any games lately, but I think the last Unity game I played was Shellshock Live.
