So, who’s up for a get-together at GDC Austin? Any locals know of a good spot for some drinks and conversation among we Unity folk?
We’ll be there (helping organize the Independent Games Summit on Tuesday/Wednesday and generally hanging around all week).

I will be there and I plan on going to Matthew’s presentation. Although I may not be able to attend, what do like in a place to drink and talk? Austin has quit a few places depending on what you want. Unfortunately I am not much of a bar person so my knowledge is limited in that area. Of course there is always Sixth Street which is not far from the Convention Center. Oh, and while you are in Austin make sure you get some TexMex food and some BBQ.
My favorite so far is that Mongolian BBQ across the street from the convention center. Not necessarily the best get-together-and-talk sort of place though.
If you have transportation the Hula Hut on Lake Austin is a good place. It is about 5 miles from the convention center. You can have TexMex and drinks outdoors (covered with outdoor air conditioning) right on the lake.
Could throw a get together at my house. I live downtown, a few minutes from the convention center.
Otherwise, I recommend the Bar area at the driskel hotel. Probably the best setup for being able to lounge around and meetup.
As far as timing goes, here are my thoughts: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings there are iPhone developer mixers planned, and I expect lots of Unity folks (myself included) to want to be at those. So that leaves Thursday and Friday evenings.
Any other thoughts?
If you hope to catch the entire Unity crew then Thursday as some folks are heading out on Friday right as the expo closes.

I’m saving my coin for San Francisco, so I’m skipping the GDC this year, but I’d love to come to a meet and greet somewhere. The bar at the Driskill hotel is a great spot, but anywhere downtown would be cool.
Any decision on time and place? We’ll be in tomorrow through Friday night.

Sounds like Thursday’s the day. We just need a place now. I’m not a local, so we need some suggestions from people in-country.
My vote is the Driskill hotel bar. The Driskill is on 6th and Brazos (near congress).
Sadly I’m not in Austin this week*, but I hope that this still comes together as there’s a solid crew of Unity peeps in Austin already!

Sounds like we have a time - Thursday night and a place - driskill Hotel?
Just need someone to put a stake in the ground and make it happen by picking a time (7pm?) and calling the place to let them know we’re coming. Preferably someone local or who at least has a unity T Shirt so that we can find them at the bar. Also what’s the specific addess?
No reason to call ahead. It’s a big space with lots of seats and areas for lounging.

I’m thinking 8:00 or 9:00 so that it doesn’t interfere with dinner time? Who is actually planning on going?
