general art/unity question

What are most people using for that “glow” effect around the edge of a planet in a space scene? Are people just putting a halo inside the planet that extends just beyond the edge of the mesh, or are they using a second mesh that’s is slightly larger than the planet, and inside-out to get that effect? I know this is more of an art question but it is a neat effect and I want mine to do that :wink:

The halo method looked a bit odd to me, so I thought an inside out sphere mapped with a light semi transparent color would give a cool effect. Does anyone have experience with this?

Sweet thats what I meant. I guess knowing that I should have searched for “Atmospheric Scattering” would have helped.
