General Concepts In HDRenderPipeline

I’m working on a novel graphics technique and would like to use HDRP as the basis for its existing capabilities. Perusing the codebase, I’ve come across several concepts that are new to me. For some, searching the internet for more information was unhelpful. What are these?

  • ChapmanHorizontal, ChapmanUpperApprox

  • Cookie Atlas, specifically the “cookie” part

  • Split Lighting - seems related to deferred lighting

  • Tile - is this referring to tiled rendering in some GPUs

  • Cluster - looks like ray tracing

Cookie Atlas - maybe this should be about masking a light with a black and white image to have a certain light shape. for example if you want to have a torch lighting the scene in a FPS.
