Get GearVR currently looking angle

Hello, I am trying to create a game where the player can move forward in the direction he is looking when he taps the headset. I have a camera attached to a player body, and tapping does cause the player body to move forward. However it only moves in a single direction, regardless of where the player is facing.

I think this is because the camera is not actually rotating, but it is something related to the GearVR. Any help would be appreciated.

You probably just need to match the player gameObject x & z rotation to the cameras x & z.

Quaternion.Slerp (player.transform.rotation, Quaternion.Euler (cam.transform.localEulerAngles.x, 0.0f, cam.transform.localEulerAngles.z), 1.0f);

Something like that possibly.
