Get Mac address C# script (source included) implementation?

I found the following script on the web, it supposedly supplies the Mac address (or more than one if there is more than one adaptor). This is useful to online game developers because it is a unique number that is tied to a network adaptor. This makes it easier to track individual users for administrative purposes (e.g. banning or statistical analysis).

My problem is due to my non-existant understanding of the C# language; can someone please explain to me how to implement the following script:

using UnityEngine;
using System.Collections;
using System.Net;
using System.Net.Sockets;
using System.Text;
using System;

public class MacAddress: MonoBehaviour
{
   public static void Main(string[] argv)
   {
      int commlength, miblength, datastart, datalength;
      string nextmib, value;
      SNMP conn = new SNMP();
      string mib = "1.3.6.1.2.1.17.4.3.1.1";
      int orgmiblength = mib.Length;
      byte[] response = new byte[1024];

      nextmib = mib;
	 Debug.Log ("test");
      while (true)
      {
         response = conn.get("getnext", argv[0], argv[1], nextmib);
         commlength = Convert.ToInt16(response[6]);
         miblength = Convert.ToInt16(response[23 + commlength]);
         datalength = Convert.ToInt16(response[25 + commlength + miblength]);
         datastart = 26 + commlength + miblength;
         value = BitConverter.ToString(response, datastart, datalength);
         nextmib = conn.getnextMIB(response);
         if (!(nextmib.Substring(0, orgmiblength) == mib))
            break;

        // Console.WriteLine("{0} = {1}", nextmib, value);

         // this line has been added by me for debug purposes
         Debug.Log (value);
      }
   }
}

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Well, first you need to rewrite it for Unity. In unity there is no void main function for one.

I can’t look any more tonight, but it will take a little bit to get it working. Interesting though.

Also, are you sure this will return the Mac address of a …mac? There are different ways of getting the mac address of a PC (C#'s home) and none of the ones I found work on macs.

Hi - thanks for the reply; I believe this should probably work because it uses the same libraries that the networking script on the Wiki uses (http://unify.bluegillweb.com/scriptwiki/index.php?title=NetworkCursor); however I suppose it depends on Mono’s implementation.

If anyone could shed some light on how to make this script work it would be most helpful.
