Get Outch: my first game on Kongregate

I’ve just released my first Kongregate game and I would appreciate a little feedback. I’m a lone programmer that doesn’t work with an artist and it shows but I think it turned out half decent.

You can play it here: Get Outch

Get Outch is a top down maze escape game. The goal is to get from the start point to the exit without being killed by the automated defence system. Moving platforms and teleporters add to the challenge. There are 20 levels spread across 4 difficulties and I have more levels on the way.

The game was a great learning experience. It was a big step up in complexity from my first Unity game which was basically just a word scramble.

I liked it, gave 5 stars. I would just change the background, these bricks are contrasting strange.

Indeed, I liked it as well. I agree about the backdrop and think maybe some sort of water or night sky would be better, just to give it the idea of height. Maybe lava.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

There are plenty of changes I could make to the graphics but I didn’t see a problem with the background. That is; until I saw my game in the iTunes store. For some reason it clicked at that moment. The bricks in the background look like a wall which makes it look as if the game is played on a vertical plane rather than a horizontal one.
