Simply…I want to remove meshes from FBX files and keep the rig and animations. I have C4D R12 and it refuses to import (some) animations. I tried Blender 2.67 and no FBX import there. Any suggestions?
Some of the fbx’s might have been authored in a later version than the fbx version in c4d.
Once you get a fbx into the software - you can’t just delete the mesh? Maybe a little more info would help sort it out.
Max doesn’t combine mesh data and bones when importing fbx’s. May want to download a trial version of Max or Motionbuilder.
I went and downloaded C4D R16 demo which gives me full export and save for a month. I tried it after this post in a C4D R 14 demo and it brought the animation in. I have the FBX Converter app but even rollling that back to FBX 2007 did not help. I just have too many animations and one mesh I need and the rest can be trashed. A package with 1 character and ten scripts and three ground planes should not be 80 mb when exported…
