I’m a 2.0 paying customer. Do I have to pay again for 2.1 or is it a free upgrade?
I can’t find the email with the link in it after I bought 2.0, how can I get that link again and the serial #? Who do I contact?
2.1 is a free upgrade, just download it from the link below.

Nope.
If 2.0.2 is already installed an authorized, you should just need to run the 2.1 installer to effect an upgrade.
Note: be sure and rename your existing 2.0.2 folder to something other than the default “Unity” if you would like to retain both versions of the editor.

I spent way too much time trying to figure this out - why doesn’t Unity have the “usual” Check for updates-option in it’s menus? At least some clear instructions on the site would be nice - or did I just miss them?
