Getting good Lighting (2019.1)

Helle there :),
I’m having a scene with just a directional light and a cube. The side facing the light is normally lit but the backside of the cube is completely black.
That’s on fact realistic but I don’t want to use alsways baked lighting for a picture you can look at without being one half black.
I think in the previous versions there wasn’tthis problem, right?

Tanks for any answers or ideas to solve the problem

 Nagh

Brighten your ambient lighting color in Lighting Settings, or make a small point light near the backside of the cube with low brightness giving the impression of shadows, but not so strong.
