Getting started with PSVR Development - Questions

I am a solo developer interested in starting PSVR development.
After hours trawling the internet, what is required to start the process and what the development workflow actually looks like still feel very opaque to me.

My questions are:

  1. I am currently a macOS user, and know I will need to invest in PC hardware. What hardware? How beefy of a GPU will I need? What are the minimum specs?

  2. The develop page on Sony’s website (PlayStation® Partners) states that “You must be physically located in US, Mexico, Central America, South America or Canada”. I live in New Zealand. Does this preclude me from development?

  3. Let’s say I manage to get everything together, and I sit down to start making a game. What does that workflow actually look like? Am I building the game on a PC then building and exporting to the PS4 every time I want to run a scene? Is there editor support for the PSVR? Why does this information seem so hard to find?

Thanks,
Joseph.

Console Development licenses for Unity are provided by the respective console owners. You will need to sign up with their developer program to gain access to their forums and documentation. You won’t find process information anywhere outside of the developer programs because they are under NDA. In conclusion, please contact Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, etc. for more information about their developer programs.

Hey Joe,

How did you get on with PSVR development? I intend to publish a title to PSVR this year, so Im interested to hear whether they accepted you as a solo developer and your successes. (I appreciate that if you were successful in your application to be a developer then an NDA will preclude talking about it, but at least knowing that another solo developer made it is always encouraging!)
