Getting the current Y axis of an objects rotation

I need to get the y axis of an objects rotation. Can I do this the same way as I would get the position? I.e. transform.Position?

I’m using boo as the script language

transform.eulerAngles.y

Edit: per the discussion with OP, they actually want the rotation around the Y axis which is:

transform.eulerAngles.y;

Originally I thought they wanted the Y axis for the current rotation which would be:

transform.up
