Getting the Game to Run Smoother and Better

I have not finished the level yet, but I can tell using the limited tech I have it won’t be able to run the game soon if I keep improving the areas visual and adding assets.

At point red the game runs smoothly but not very well at 28 to 35 frames per second and I can tell there is a breaking point soon. All other points it runs a 35 to 50 fps. Could someone inform me how to, e.g. if the player is at point orange or pink for point blue not to load but to be gone/vanish but if moving closer to point red to load back up and for point pink to be gone/ vanish. Maybe it could just be assets that are removed and replaced. I haven’t done anything at all to help the game run better besides add fog. But does using fog help the game to run better or does it make it worse? I thought of adding fog but am unsure if it is effective, I thought this because they did it with Silent Hill on the PlayStation 2 because they couldn’t get it to run how it should have.

Also sub question at the top left of the image there are two arrows pointing at a small circle above ‘file’ when hovered over there is a diagonal stretch icon. Can someone tell me what it is and/or how to remove it?

Almost forgot, I have got this running on -

Not sure if it’s any help but it could be.

My guess would be that you have a script that is being very inefficient and that is causing the low fps. This is where the Unity Profiler would come in and tell you what is making it slow. Unfortunately, that is a Pro only feature.

Too bad, but I still have my Unity Pro 4 trial, so I could use that but I’ll wait till I have nearly finished the game for that so I can check all levels.
Thanks for the reply. Also I have to ask do you know what the small circular thing is, is driving me mad.

Does not look Unity related. I found some results of a similiar circle while searching google.
