.GIFS of games in development

Some of these are using Unity for development. Just so many darned creative people out there! This animated .gif thing to preview games in development seems to be a trend.

Some other neat ones:

So many gifs…

Gifs are extremely useful on pages where you don’t want to post a video, but still want people to see the game in action (if sound isn’t needed).

Congratulations. This thread crashed my phone twice.

Ah sorry

This too awesome! MORE PLEASE MORE !

Your phone just can’t handle the pure awesomeness of this thread. Please kill it with fire.

I can barely see the animations on the iPad; they’re going much too slow.

My Galaxy SIII is too expensive to kill with fire, water, earth, or wind.

People need to ease way off the retro game throttle.

Ahhh, the worst format ever!

Sounds like you should submit a bug report to Samsung, since a browser definitely shouldn’t crash when loading a valid web page. This thread works OK on my iPod touch using Safari; generally pretty slow but occasionally one of the GIFs would run at the correct speed, then for some reason it would run slow again if I scrolled away and back.

I’m using a Galaxy S2 and it seems to be run laggy, but not crashing. Let me find some more of these gems. As a side note, I’m not endorsing retro gaming or anything, it just seems a LOT of folks are making games in that art style.

On side note for those having performance issues on this page:

Any browser will play the gifs frame-by-frame untill it’s fully loaded. While still loading all the images on the page, ALL these images are rendered in the background.
Once done loading they will be just dumped to the memory untill they appear in your viewing space again.
(This is true for Firefox, Chrome and the Android Browser for sure!)
So try to avoid viewing too many GIFs at once
